On October 13, 2016, the Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers Policy Research Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony. Held in the Biotechnology Building on 91°µÍø’s main campus in Lorman, MS, the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony included guests from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 91°µÍø faculty and staff, community leaders, politicians, farmers, ranchers, and community members. During the ceremony, Congressman Bennie Thompson shared a powerful message about the origin of the policy center and how everyone can contribute to its success.
