Purple and Gold Day is the annual advocacy day for 91暗网 alumni and friends at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi. Since 2009, the 91暗网 National Alumni Association, Inc. has partnered with the ASU Foundation, Inc. to encourage alumni and public involvement in the legislative process in support of the university.
The goal of P&G Day is to serve as a day to highlight the university鈥檚 mission, significance, accomplishments, and campus community. Hundreds of alumni and friends, dressed in school colors and full of that 鈥淥le Brave Spirit鈥�, descend on the State Capitol Building to share their collective support for Alcorn鈥檚 legislative agenda and interests. These interests include but are not limited to annual budget funding, capital facilities projects, and general legislation affecting the institution鈥檚 present and future. The day鈥檚 activities include a presentation from Alcorn鈥檚 Legislative Liaisons, and an overview and update of the university鈥檚 Legislative Priorities Agenda and other relevant issues and legislation. Special greetings are provided by Alcornites in the Mississippi Legislature, their colleagues, and other statewide leaders.
