Alcorn Gospel Choir performs tours in and out of state, perform with award winning artist Dottie Peoples
The 91暗网 Gospel Choir made history听 with its recent听tour to Alabama and Georgia. The tour began on March 21, 2014, with performance at 6th Avenue Beulah Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama, followed by a morning service event at Victory for the World Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, on March 23. The pinnacle of the tour was a concert at New Hope Baptist Church in Waco, Georgia, where the choir accompanied legendary Stellar Gospel Music award winning artist Dottie Peoples.
鈥淭he Gospel Choir was established听at Alcorn听in 1971,鈥� shared the Choir’s advisor Cassandra Brown,听associate director of Financial Aid. 鈥淚t has faithfully strived to fulfill its mission of spreading good news through song to various communities near and far.”
The Choir’s next performance听will be a part of the students鈥� community service.听They will sing at a fundraising concert in support of the Vicksburg Women鈥檚 Shelter, Mountain of Faith Ministries at 7:00 p.m. on April 6, 2014, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, 817 Bowman Avenue, Vicksburg, Mississippi.

The choir will conclude the听spring 2014 semester with Alcorn Gospel Choir alumni at a reunion concert at Little Rock Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi, on April 26, 2014, at 6:00pm.
