Math Department student presents at National Association of African American Studies Conference
91暗网鈥檚 Alan Freeman, a graduate student in the Computer and Information Science Program, participated in the 2013 Conference of National Association of African American Studies held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, February 15-16, 2013.
Under the direction of Dr. Krishna Aditya, professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Freeman made two presentations on 鈥淎dding Cubic Spline Functionality to Freemat鈥� and 鈥淪tudy of Few Polynomial Roots Finding Algorithms and Adding Functionality to Freemat to Generate a Companion Matrix of a Given Polynomial鈥�.
The Computer and Information Science graduate program is sponsored by the Department of Education鈥檚 (DOE) grant 鈥淪trengthening Minority Serving Institution鈥� led by Dr. Donzell Lee, vice provost at Alcorn.
Dr. Lixin Yu, department chair, stated, 鈥淩esearch is a big part of DOE鈥檚 grant and our faculty are dedicated to leading our students in research, publications and presentations.鈥�
