ASU professor attends conference, publishes two papers
Dr. Alex D.W. Acholonu, professor of biology at Alcorn, recently attended the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene annual meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He presented a paper on HIV\AIDS in Mississippi.
Also recently, Dr. Acholonu published two research articles. 鈥淲ater quality studies on the Big Sunflower River and Yazoo River in Mississippi鈥� was听 published in an international journal Advances in Science and Technology听 Journal. The article is about water pollution study conducted by Dr. Acholonu and his field biology and ecology听 students.
鈥淲e plan to continue this research with my students to safeguard the aquatic environment,鈥� stated Dr. Acholonu.
His second paper 鈥淲ater Quality studies on the Okitankwo River in Owerri, Nigeria鈥� was published in the Journal of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences. It is a collaborative study between Dr. Acholonu and Dr. Peter U. Okorie, professor at Imo State University in Owerri, Nigeria.听
